Located adjacent to Lake Oroville and its State Recreational Area (SRA), Kelly Ridge residents enjoy ready access to a wide variety of outdoor activities. Aquatic recreation includes swimming, boating and fishing in California’s second largest reservoir (23 square miles with over 167 miles of shoreline) renowned for its bass fishing tournaments. The SRA offers all forms of camping, including floating campsites on the lake. The Park’s equestrian, hiking and mountain biking trails are some of the finest in the state. In addition to the adjacent golf course, there are several more courses within short driving times.
The dam’s after bay areas offer additional water activities, including an aquatic center featuring kayaking, sailing and swimming to name a few.
Nearby are the recreational facilities of the Feather River Recreation and Park District with its many facilities, including Riverbend Park near downtown Oroville and additional Parks and Touring Attractions sponsored by the City of Oroville. Other attractions include several wildlife areas, heritage museums and nearby natural scenery tours including, Feather Falls, the sixth tallest in the US, and the Feather River Canyon National Scenic Byway.
The adjacent communities of Oroville and Chico offer a wide variety of cultural and educational opportunities, including the Oroville Concert Association’s series of live entertainment and Chico State University’s entertainment and symphony series to name a few .
Finally, Kelly Ridge is centrally located in one of the most interesting areas of the State with major attractions such as Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, the Napa Valley wine country and the State Capital of Sacramento, all within 1-1/2 to 3 hours drive.
